He has won both The Stewart Parker Trust Award and Duais Aitheantais an Oireachtais for his one-man play, ‘Pádraic Ó Conaire’ and, together with Paul Brennan and Lara Campbell, won ‘Best Production’ for POC’s stage adaptation of Paris,Texas for The ESB Dublin Fringe 2003.

His most recent theatre work includes ‘The Lieutenant of Inishmore’ for The Town Hall Theatre/Cork Opera House; ‘Mamó Gé’ for An Taibhdhearc (director) and ‘The Fairgreen Slaughterhouse’ for POC (winner Best Production, Project ’06, nominated Best Actor) 2007 tour. His most recent television work is ‘Pádraic Ó Conaire -An Fear’, a drama documentary, written and performed for Seanchas productions, 2007. On film, Diarmuid appears in the recently released Oscar nominated ‘Kings’ which was partly shot in Belfast.
